I am so excited about how well the contest gone so far. Over 100 entries! I had not originally figured we'd have so many when I put together the voting system, so I'll be tweaking it a bit.

Voting starts tomorrow, Sept. 3, EDT. I will be splitting the entries into 3 sections. These entries will be submitted as three separate journals that will be up for voting for about 2 weeks. (The journals will be submitted one after the other, not at the same time.) The top 4 entries from each journal (12 altogether) will go into a fourth and final journal, where the winners will be voted on and determined.

Voting rules, as well as a recap of what I just explained, will be included with each journal. Good luck, everyone!

UPDATE 9/1/12 - Alright everyone, the contest is ending at midnight tonight, EDT! Be sure to get your entries in on time, and please remember to follow all of the submission guidelines. I'd hate for you to miss the deadline because you have to re-enter your work.

Hello, friends, members, and colleagues! It's contest time, so get your tools of the trade ready!




All of us have someplace we dream of going when school's out, and there's nothing to do around home. What exactly is that place like? A tropical beach with fun in the sun? A high mountain resort, to beat the heat? Or maybe it's someplace in your hometown, your backyard even. Or maybe you'd like to join your favorite fan characters in their homeworlds!

Here is your chance to show us! What is your summer dream getaway like?



All mediums are allowed. I would love to read about your favorite getaway, or see it acted out in Cosplay. No matter where your talent lies, you belong in this contest.

Your entries should be newly created for this contest (made after June 1st, 2012), but can be submitted to other contests, as well.  

There is one exception to the above rule. Due to seasonal differences around the world, older entries will only be accepted for Photography. However, these entries can not have been submitted to other contests.

You are allowed 2 entries, but only one can place.

You must be a member of #AllArt-R-US to participate.

Members of the #AllArt-R-US staff can enter and have equall chances of winning.

Prize donators can enter and have equal chances of winning.

When submitting your work to DeviantART, please post a link to #AllArt-R-US and this journal in your description. This way, the Admin. will know that your piece was created for the contest, and others may be interested to join as well.

Entries should be submitted to the Summer Dream Getaway Contest folder.



All entries are due by September 1st at 11:59 p.m. EST. I'll be setting a timer on the front page, so keep an eye on it.

I figured that running the contest for 3 months would give students plenty of time to enter. There will be no extensions.



Voting will take place on September 2, and will be done by Popular Vote. I will be putting up a voting journal with the contest entries as links, not thumbnails (this keeps things fair). Voting rules will be in the journal.
